JOIN IN ON THE FUN, VOLUNTEER TODAY!

For the safety and security of our scholars, any person or group interested in becoming a member of our educational community as a campus volunteer is required to complete the District's Volunteer, Mentor, Partner Background Check Application and Agreement Form, prior to volunteer service.

We encourage all interested members to complete the application prior to the school year to ensure sufficient time for processing. Volunteers will not be permitted to begin service until the application process and approval has been completed.

Volunteers are a vital part of our school community and offer many advantages to student learning and development. To become a Volunteer in Public Schools, please click on the picture below.

*Greetings from the Principal

At the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC), it is our goal to ensure a learning environment which provides our students with opportunities to lead, collaborate, and achieve at their fullest potential. ECDC teachers, university partners, parents, and staff work hard to ensure a strong academic dual language English/Spanish 50:50 program for all students in PreK 3 through 5th grade.

Student success is the result of a strong collaborative partnership with the Corpus Christi Independent School District and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Academic engagement is evident through diverse teaching and learning methods incorporating advanced technology and a strong fine arts curriculum.  Both initiatives provide our students with the foundation necessary for advanced critical and creative thought while enabling each student the opportunity to develop his/her own unique abilities and talents through intellectual and artistic expression.

The Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets brings to focus our
work with parents and with the community as we strive to strengthen our academic program through the support of mentors, volunteers, community partners, and an active parent involvement program.

Parents are encouraged to join us every Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm in the parent involvement room for our weekly Tea with the Principal.

The Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) is a dual language elementary school for children age three through the grade 5. We are a collaborative between the Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) and Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). Each year the ECDC accepts 22 new students into the Pre-kindergarten 3 program through a lottery system.

Applicants must be at least three years of age on or before September 1st of the upcoming school year, able to go the the bathroom independently and currently residing within the CCISD boundries. Applicants are not required to be bilingual in order to apply, however, we do maintain a student body which is composed of 50% dominant English speaking students and 50% dominant Spanish speaking students. The ECDC accepts applications for Pre-kindergarten 4 through grade 5 and will only bring students into these grade levels there are vacancies which need to be filled.

Applications are available every year on the first working day of February. Anyone can pick up an application at our location on campus at TAMUCC in the Blanche Davis Moore Early Childhood Development Center building. You may click the link at the very bottom of this page titled, Location. Applications are also available at all CCISD elementary schools and the CCISD Administrative Building, located at 801 Leopard Street.
